A fine brass bottle cooler for wine or champagne. With shell-shaped handles. Engraved with an armorial motif featuring three fleurs-de-lis and the year 1776. A central cylinder is made to hold the bottle while the surrounding area can be filled with ice. Retaining an old label underneath from Mark and Marjorie Allen.
