Chinoiserie Wall Clock by Thwaites & Reed

A round wall clock with red and gold chinoiserie decoration. The painted face bears the name of the maker. Located in Clerkenwell, London, Thwaites & Reed lay claim to being the oldest surviving clock makers in the world and oversaw the re-building of Big Ben in the 1970’s. The case is decorated with traditional chinoiserie scenes interspersed between metal grill doors which allow access to the works.
