A rare walnut lettuccio (a large, high-back bench or daybed) with paneled back, geometric inlay, and carved masks on the arm supports. The panels of the back are flanked by stop-fluted pilasters with carved Corinthian capitals. The hinged seat lifts to reveal storage below. The photos below include examples from the collection of Julian Di Medici, Davanzati Palace (Florence), and a cassapanca from the Met with similar mask carving on the arm supports.
