18th Century Comb-Back Windsor Chair on Turned Legs
A fine quality comb-back Windsor armchair retaining a rich color and patina. The solid, shaped backsplats are flanked by three spindles above and below the bowed arms. These spindles, in turn, are flanked by flat uprights. Below the arms are three further spindles on each side and an angled, well-turned arm support. The shaped seat is formed out of elm. The turned legs are joined by turned H-stretchers. Some old repairs to the arm and spindles. Likely from the Thames Valley region.
